YPAO Automatic System Calibration

Yamaha’s YPAO system uses a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for any room, no matter where the speakers are. First it checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters, such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers and even the sound pressure level, etc. Until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room and you don't have to do anything!

ECO mode

ECO mode reduces power consumption by about 20%*. It can be set easily from the top of the GUI/OSD menu.

SCENE – A NEW LEVEL OF OPERATING EASE

With most AV components, watching or listening to what you want requires a number of steps. You have to turn on the AV component, turn on another component like a DVD player, select the source, select the surround mode and then press play. But with Yamaha’s SCENE feature all you need to do is press one button. Both components turn on, the correct DSP setting is made, and play begins. This SCENE function allows you to change input sources and sound field programmes with one button. Four SCENE buttons are available for different usages, such as playing movies or music.

CINEMA DSP Digital

･ Since the Dolby Surround and DTS systems were originally designed for use in movie theaters, their effect is best felt in a theater having many speakers designed for acoustic effects. Since home conditions, such as room size, wall material, number of speakers, and so on, can differ so widely, it is inevitable that there are differences in the sound heard. Based on a wealth of actually measured data, Yamaha CINEMA DSP provides the audiovisual experience of a movie theater in the listening room of your own home by using the Yamaha original sound field technology combined with various digital audio systems.
･ The actually measured sound field data contain the information of the height of the sound images. CINEMA DSP 3D mode achieves the reproduction of the accurate height of the sound images so that it creates the accurate and intensive stereoscopic sound fields in a listening room.

This AV Controller App will turn your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad into a Wi-Fi enabled remote control for select Yamaha network products. This App provides the flexibility to control input, volume, mute and power commands. You can browse content from all internally available sources such as Internet Radio, USB and AM/FM tuners. You can also control all AV Receiver zones such as powering on and changing input for each zone. This App not only controls Yamaha AV Receivers, it also controls Blu-ray Disc™ Players, supporting various functions including Play, Stop and Forward. Device Select & Demo

Networked Yamaha devices are automatically displayed in the device menu. If your device is not recognized, please press to check the settings. The Demo explains what controls are available with this App.

AV Receiver Control

You can control Power on/off and volume up/down/mute. The App displays which input, DSP mode and zone are selected.

Input Select

Just by touching an icon, you can select the source unit or service you want to enjoy.

Content Browsing^*

Information such as artist name, song title and album name are displayed with colorful cover art image.

SCENE Select^*

SCENE function allows you to select the assigned input sources and sound program, etc.

DSP Mode Select

You can select a DSP program to match your current source.

Option Menu^*

Depending on the source, you can select and operate the tone control, surround mode, etc.

Zone Control

You can control power on/off, source selection, volume and other functions from another room (zone).

Blu-ray Disc™ Player Control

You can control the basic functions of Yamaha Blu-ray Disc™ players such as Play, Pause, Skip, Power and cursor navigations.

Multi-Language Support (AV Receivers only)

English, French, German, Spanish, Russian or Japanese.

iOS4.0 or higher.
A wireless Local Area Network (LAN) and a compatible Yamaha Network AV Receiver residing within the same LAN.
